Why Jobs May Not Be as Safe and Secure as We Use to Think

The way the economy of the country turned out to be, you shouldn’t be comfortable on a particular Job.

The risk of getting comfortable in an establishment you don’t own or co-own can never be over emphasized.

You can get sacks at any given time, ranging from when the company decides to cut cost of managing, or even change or management.

A change of management can make you lose your job, if the new management are with her team and wants to work with who they know.

You will end up picking your pilgrim sack and leave because it might take you months to secure another job because of the high rate of unemployment.

So, we are going to be reviewing some of the reasons, you shouldn’t feel relaxed in a job.

And what you should do, if you got caught up in the mess, or what to do to protect yourself or not to look for another Job.

So, some of the reasons might include;

There is someone hunting for your position who is always better than you.

This might sound hash or anything, but the sad reality is that when you accept that there is someone who is better than you.

You can invest in improving yourself, learning more about your field and make sure you are an access that they can’t deal without or hard to replace.

When I was working as a computer tutor, I had this mindset and I was always open for improving I increased my knowledge and when deep into the program I was teaching.

It helps me to reorganize my curriculum and improve on what I was doing, it made the work easier.

It can help increase your salary, or even still gives you the opportunity to secure a higher paying job.  

High Rise of unemployment rate

Since people are constantly hurting for jobs, this serves as a bad signal to you.

This is even the worse reason, because of this, your employer won’t think twice before replacing you.

You don’t want to know how many application letters are coming to the desk of your boss, even worst application letter for your position.

If you don’t have the skills to keep you ahead of them you will might be replaced immediately.

Businesses can tend to cut cost.

The worst thing that happened to me was way back in 2020, it was on the month of December.

While I was working in a firm, I received my FINAL salary that December (Thank God they waited till Christmas LOL).

I didn’t know what to do the following year, I remember staying up in bed during a happy new year celebration, wondering what’s “happy” about the year.

So, it actually came with a notice that my service will no longer be needed, as they are looking to cut cost and operate within a budget.

What I noticed was that they reduced all staff that year ending and only operated with the secretary.

But the general idea is that, any business owner can decide to sack you to lower cost since paying staffs are considered expenses in firm’s accounting records.

Businesses can restructure

Another thing to consider is that, businesses can tend to restructure their services, maybe from a server website host company to fully participate in telecommunication.

The whole general idea is that if your employer company is running different industry in the firm, they might decide to close the one doing poor.

Channel all resources to the best industry, and if you are working on the affected industry, you will lose your job.

Rapid improvement in technology

Even the most outdated person on current affairs would have gotten the clue by now, I use to seat down and think lots of businesses that technology have close down.

And to mention but a few, some of them are;

Renting Movies: by then we use to have big stores where you can easily rent movies, but now lots of apps and even cables have cancelled that line of Job.

Call Centers: Just like POS now, call centers use to be around every crook and cranny and those without phones can buy call time and call their love ones.

Some robots are even replacing waiters although not rampant now.

Camera men jobs are constantly in decline because of mobile phones with clear camera, 90% of people don’t call them for baby photoshoot or something

When you look at this local examples that we have experienced already, you will notice that there are a lot of  things going on in larger scale.

Newer technologies are being introduced and people are losing their jobs cause of this.

Drones have somehow display pilots from flying helicopter around for bird-eyes views.

What can you do to feel more secure in your Job?

There are a lot of options to choose from, but just like we discussed here.

Take charge and improve on your skills, give them a hard-to-replace skill on your position.

Make sure your employer is getting more than they bargained for.

This will not only help you secure your job, but can easily get you higher up into your career.

Also try out some business as a side hustle, take charge of your finance life, there are lucrative businesses that you might look down on, that might even set you on the part of success.

What can you do when you get sacked?

Well as bad as it sounds, this is something almost everybody experience while working their jobs

So, it is advisable to have save up enough, make sure you check if you can start up a business to feed your financial needs.

You can also go ahead improve yourself and get back to your career, if you really love it.

So most of the times, do what sustains you, get a hold of your financial capabilities, there is something out there for u to do            .

In conclusion

This doesn't mean you should abandon your job and go start a business, if you are gainfully employed.

If you have ever heard the saying “Do not put your eggs in one basket” no true words have ever been said.

If you have any experience of getting sack, you will know it sucks, and will even suck more if you don’t have a backup plan for it.

You can also start a small business alongside your job and if you are not employed, then there is nothing stopping you from achieving your dreams.
